Charleston, South Carolina—FireFly Vodka, a premier Southern vodka and one of the most celebrated vodkas in South Carolina, is now flying into Georgia with distribution beginning in Savannah and Atlanta.  Partners Jim Irvin and Scott Newitt confirm that FireFly is being distributed through Savannah Distributing, a distributor of top of the line spirits, beers and wines including Bacardi, Jack Daniel’s and Corona.

While it is still making a splash in South Carolina, FireFly is slowly making its way across the borders. ”This is the perfect time to expand our distribution,” says Jim Irvin, “Though born in South Carolina, FireFly is a premier Southern vodka, and that’s what we want people to think and feel as they enjoy it.”

Gil Wentz of Savannah Distributors confirms that the distribution of the vodka is in its early stages, “We’re slowly introducing the vodka to area liquor stores and restaurants,” explains Wentz.

The vodka, created by South Carolinians, Jim Irvin and Scott Newitt, has been rated 89 points by the Beverage Testing Institute, outscoring popular vodkas, Absolut, Finlandia, Fris and Ketel One, making it a fashionable spirit that falls into the premium vodka category. Firefly Vodka is a muscadine wine flavored vodka made with five times distilled vodka, the finest vodka. The vodka is born on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, located on one of the barrier islands surrounding the Charleston peninsula. Since its launch in April 2006, distribution has been widespread across the state with popularity of the spirit on the rise.

The design and logo on the bottle reflect the vodka’s birthplace.  South Carolina artist, Kevin Curran designed FireFly’s logo. His inspiration came about from his own childhood memories of catching fireflies. The logo’s dark blue background with the palmetto moon was inspired by South Carolina’s Lowcountry region on the coastal waterways. Alum of the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Curran paints portraits and landscapes, as well as runs a graphic design and illustration studio in Charleston.
